The Sunflower State

This image is more complex and ambiguous. Kansas is known as the Sunflower State due to the prevalence of these grand and beautiful icons. In the current political climate, I feel like I’m being intimidated. I feel like I have to be fearful of my own body. I feel like I am made to feel guilty about the very complicated and hard choices I’ve made to have abortions in the past. And I carry that burden with me. Since women in Kansas now have limited access to health care and other resources to survive as single mothers or in low-income families, we carry that extra fear and burden as well.
